21 competitors competed in RS Aero 7 German Open which was held during 87. Warnemünder Woche 2025 between 11th and 13th of July. Sailors from Switzerland, Netherlands and Ukraine gladly joined the event.
On the first racing day no races were possible due to strong winds and huge waves.
The forecast for Saturday, second racing day, was challenging, so the Race Committee decided to have the start in the morning.
Big and steep waves together with strong winds gave new experience to all sailors. The main goal for the day was keeping boat upright and to find the marks.
Only one race was completed, because the wind was picking up.
In the evening of Saturday sailors joined class dinner and had opportunity to exchange impressions after the race.
Third racing day couldn’t be better. Easterly wind 8-14 knots, morning start, 4 races completed, as scheduled. During third race of the day rain clouds started to come closer to the race area causing some wind speed changes and shifts.
The leader of the day was Sofiia Naumenko (UKR), finished first in all races. For second and third places there was a real battle between Marcus Walther and Juliane Barthel. During the last race Marcus took the right shift from the start, was leading the race, finished the race second and took second place in regatta, wining one point from Juliane.
The races were followed by the prize giving ceremony with great prizes.
